The spacious, glass-walled Mojikō Retro Observation Room occupies the top floor of the 31-story Mojikō Retro High Mart skyscraper.
The Mojiko Retro Observation Room sits on the top floor of a 31-story glass skyscraper designed by architect Kurokawa Kisho and completed in 1999. The 270-degree view takes in the Kanmon Strait, several of Moji's historic buildings, and on clear days the landmarks of Shimonoseki across the water, including the island of Ganyujima where the famous 1612 duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro took place. Just before sunset the lights dim to orange, and the nighttime view has been recognized as Night View Heritage of Japan. Digital telescopes offer up to 100x magnification.
