Mitsubishi Former Pattern Shop
museum
三菱長崎造船所 旧木型場
An 1898 shipyard building now functioning as a museum for Japan's shipbuilding history.
Built in 1898, this is the oldest surviving building at the Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard. It originally housed the production of wooden casting patterns for ship parts. Today, it serves as an excellent museum displaying the heavy machinery and technological timeline of Japan's shipbuilding revolution.
Because this museum sits inside an active industrial shipyard, you must take the mandatory free shuttle bus from Nagasaki Station to enter.
