Overview
National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation; 6-meter Geo-Cosmos OLED globe is the centerpiece.
The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, opened 2001 with astronaut Mamoru Mohri as founding director. The centerpiece is the Geo-Cosmos, a 6-meter OLED globe suspended in the central atrium that displays real-time satellite weather data. Exhibitions cover robotics (Asimo retired in 2022, but successors run demos), genomics, and climate science. The 4th-floor observation deck looks across Tokyo Bay to the Rainbow Bridge.
Local tips
Closed Tuesdays. ASIMO successor demos run twice daily; Geo-Cosmos shows are scheduled hourly. Buy tickets online to skip the entry queue on weekends.
