Mikokuyu
Overview
Renovated designer sento near Ryogoku featuring high-quality black hot spring water.
Beautifully renovated sento that balances traditional craftsmanship with modern design. It is famous for its 'Kuroyu' (black water), a natural hot spring rich in organic minerals that leave the skin feeling silky. The bathing area features a stunning tile mural based on Hokusai's 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji'. The facility is split over two floors, with the top floor offering a semi-outdoor bath with views of the Tokyo Skytree. It is officially tattoo-friendly and actively marketed towards international visitors. Its proximity to the Ryogoku sumo district makes it a perfect stop after visiting the Edo-Tokyo Museum or a sumo tournament.
