Overview
60+ relocated Meiji buildings including Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel lobby on a lakeside campus.
Over 60 Meiji-era buildings were relocated to this lakeside open-air museum, including the lobby of Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel, an operational steam locomotive, and a Kyoto streetcar. The 100-hectare grounds around Lake Iruka recreate an entire Meiji-era townscape, from a post office to a brewery. The Imperial Hotel lobby serves coffee in the original Wright-designed space.
