One of Mashiko's most established studios, carrying on the folk pottery tradition of Living National Treasure Hamada Shoji. Wheel throwing, hand building, and painting workshops use the distinctive Mashiko ash glaze.

Local tips

Request the kaki (persimmon) glaze. It's Mashiko's most distinctive finish, turning rich amber in the kiln.
