Makuhari Messe
幕張メッセ
Overview
Second largest convention center in Japan after Tokyo Big Sight, host to many of Japan's most popular events.
Japan's second-largest convention center after Tokyo Big Sight, and its cavernous exhibition halls play host to some of the country's biggest events throughout the year. Tokyo Game Show in September, CEATEC (Asia's largest electronics expo), and major concert tours all take place here, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The complex sits within the broader Makuhari New City development, which includes the QVC Marine Field baseball stadium, shopping malls, and waterfront parks. Even when no major event is on, the modernist architecture and the planned city atmosphere make for an interesting contrast to old-town Chiba.
