Overview
Rustic riverside ryokan with stunning open-air baths perched directly above the water.
Hozantei sits on the river south of the town center, with several outdoor baths positioned directly above the water. The ryokan keeps its rustic mountain-village character — exposed beams, river-stone garden, no televisions. Cited by JNTO and Japan Guide as one of Kurokawa's standout baths.
Local tips
The small bridge approach is the village's most photographed angle. Cross at dusk.
