熊本城 ミュージアムわくわく座
Overview
Wakuwakuza brings the history of Kumamoto Castle to life through interactive and multimedia displays aimed at all ages. A 3D scale model with projection mapping recreates the April 2016 earthquake in detail, showing tiles and stone walls collapsing in real time. A theater room shows footage of the castle immediately after the quake, and live camera feeds let visitors watch restoration work still in progress. An automated kamishibai performance retells the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion siege, including the famous line from rebel leader Saigo Takamori that the castle itself had beaten him. Upstairs, VR tours and a model built from 75,000 plastic bricks round out the experience.
