小菅修船場跡
A 19th-century ship repair slip featuring Japan's oldest Western-style brick building.
Featuring the oldest Western-style brick building in Japan, this slip dock was used to haul ships ashore for repair. The massive brick winch house still contains original steam-powered machinery imported from Scotland. It stands as a vivid relic of Nagasaki's early maritime industrialization.
Combine this with a visit to Glover Garden, as it is just a short, scenic walk down the hill toward the water.
