Kosekiya is the more accessible alternative to Notoya and Fujiya, with reliable seasonal availability and a kaiseki dinner that leans into Yamagata mountain vegetables and Yonezawa beef. The signature roten on the second floor faces the river and the row of opposite-bank ryokan; sliding shoji partitions give privacy without enclosing the steam. Rooms are tatami with futon service.
