Koboke Observation Deck

小歩危展望台
Viewing platform overlooking the dramatic Koboke Gorge, where the Yoshino River carves through ancient rock formations.
The Koboke Observation Deck stands above the gorge section of the Yoshino River where it narrows between high cliff walls in the mountains of Miyoshi. The river runs an intense blue-green color through the gorge, fed by clear mountain water from the Tsurugi range, and the rock walls on both sides drop steeply to the water. The deck gives a direct view down into the gorge and along the river's curve. Rafting and canyon tours operate from the base of the gorge below, and the observation deck is a good place to watch the boats move through the rapids. The Oboke Gorge sightseeing boats depart from a pier a short drive downstream.
