Kitakaro Otaru Honkan

Kitakaro's flagship store occupies a preserved stone warehouse along Otaru's historic canal, and the building's thick walls and vaulted ceiling give it a different atmosphere from most pastry shops. Display counters hold their well-known jumbo cream puffs, baked fresh through the day, alongside seasonal cakes and the Hokkaido-exclusive Baumkuchen rings made with local dairy butter and cream. The space doubles as a cafe where you can eat at the counter with canal views. Morning visits get the freshest puffs and quieter seating.
