The Kioi Art Gallery, Edo Ise-Katagami Kimono Museum in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, showcases the art of Ise-katagami, intricate paper stencils used for dyeing textiles, particularly kimonos. The collection spans from the Edo period through Showa, featuring Edokomon patterns used for samurai kimonos, geometrical abstract designs, and classical literature motifs. Ise-katagami originated in the Suzuka area of Mie Prefecture and is designated as one of Japan's Important Intangible Cultural Properties.
