金峰山
Forested mountain above Gifu Castle offering hiking trails, seasonal foliage, and panoramic views of the Nobi Plain.
Kinpozan rises just behind central Gifu, low enough to hike up comfortably from the castle in under an hour but high enough to give clear views across the Nobi Plain and the Nagara River below. A ropeway also runs to the summit area if you prefer. Near the top you find Gifu Castle, a museum, and a small shrine. The mountain is at its best in late March when cherry trees line the lower trails, and in autumn when the maples along the path turn red and orange.
