吉祥寺サンロード
Covered 300-meter shotengai running north from Kichijoji Station; 200+ shops, the spine of Kichijoji.
A 300-meter covered shopping arcade running north from Kichijoji Station's north exit, with about 200 shops mixing fashion, food, drugstores, and longer-running independents. The arcade dates to 1971; the roof was added 1991, making it weather-independent year-round. The arcade is the spine of Kichijoji and connects to NakaMichi-dori, Daiya-Gai, and Petit Mura via narrow side streets.
Saturday afternoons are the busiest; weekday late mornings let you actually see the shop windows. Turn east at the third side street for Petit Mura.
