Overview
Edo-era post town with 100+ unique hand-dyed noren curtains adorning every shopfront.
A former castle town along the Asahi River where over 100 hand-dyed noren curtains by artist Yoko Kano hang at the entrance of every house and shop on the main street. Each vegetable-dyed curtain is unique, reflecting the owner's trade or personality. White-walled storehouses and lattice-windowed merchant houses line the Izumo Highway post-town route.
