Overlooking Lake Shibayama, this Kaga Onsen district town offers the unusual experience of soaking in hot springs while gazing across a lake at the Hakusan mountain range. The Sou-yu public bath, designed by architect Yuzuru Tominaga, has floor-to-ceiling glass walls that frame the lake view. At sunset, the water surface turns gold against the mountain silhouette.
