Hillsides burst with 800,000 phlox flowers each spring, creating cascading pink and white carpets in rural Hiroshima.
Kamu no Sato Flower Village in the Sera Highlands of Hiroshima Prefecture draws visitors in spring when over 800,000 phlox flowers carpet the hillsides in cascading waves of pink, white, purple, and red. The terraced fields, set against gentle mountains and rural farmland, feel intimate compared to Hokkaido's famous flower parks. Phlox season runs mid-April to mid-May, and peak bloom turns the entire hillside into a living tapestry. Beyond spring, lavender arrives in summer and cosmos in autumn. A small cafe and gift shop serve flower-themed refreshments, and the surrounding Sera Highlands are also known for wine and local fruit.
