上石津ミサンザイ古墳
Japan's third-largest ancient keyhole tomb, beautifully framed by a wide water moat.
The third largest keyhole-shaped tomb in Japan, believed to belong to Emperor Richu. Surrounded by an impressive water moat, it forms the southern edge of the monumental Mozu tomb cluster. While entry is strictly forbidden, walking the quiet perimeter path offers excellent views of the forested mound.
The moat attracts a wide variety of migratory birds in the winter, making it a surprisingly excellent spot for birdwatching.
