Balance a pot lid on your head for good luck.
Kamafuta Shrine in Minamikyushu is dedicated to pot lids, kamafuta, and draws performers and athletes seeking good fortune in their work. The practice here involves balancing a pot lid on your head and walking from the torii gate to the worship hall without dropping it, with the promise that your wish will be granted. Visitors can also throw small clay lids into a pot set out over the sea. Next to the shrine is a viewpoint called the Cape of Hope, overlooking open water and Mt. Kaimon in the distance, with a bench shaped like a Japanese pot lid. The whole visit takes under an hour.
Purify your hands at the temizuya before approaching the main hall. Left hand first, then right, then pour water into your left hand to rinse your mouth.
