偕楽園
One of Japan's Three Great Gardens with 3,000 plum trees, yet surprisingly uncrowded.
One of Japan's Three Great Gardens, established in 1842, famous for 3,000 plum trees of 100 varieties blooming from late February through March. Despite its ranking, it receives far fewer international visitors than Kenroku-en.
Late afternoon light creates the best shadows through the pine trees. Photographers should plan for the last 2 hours before closing.
