Kagizen Yoshifusa

鍵善良房 四条本店

4.4Est. 60Kyoto, Kansai

Overview

Refined sweet shop famous for its kuzukiri (chilled arrowroot noodles) served with black sugar syrup.

Kagizen Yoshifusa has operated near Gion since 1865, and the tea room attached to the confectionery shop remains one of the most serene places to pause in central Kyoto. The signature kuzukiri arrives as chilled, translucent arrowroot noodles with a small pitcher of Okinawan black sugar syrup poured over at the table. The texture is slippery and slightly chewy, the flavor gentle and clean. Order a bowl of matcha alongside it. The shop also sells boxed confections and seasonal wagashi to take away.
