歌舞伎町
Shinjuku's most densely packed, neon-burning, boisterous yet safest red-light district in Asia, possibly the world.
Shinjuku's entertainment district is a dense grid of neon-lit streets packed with bars, karaoke parlors, arcades, restaurants, and cinemas that together form Tokyo's most energetic nightlife zone. The streets peak after dark when towering signs in every color light the narrow alleys and an extraordinary cross-section of the city fills the sidewalks. The Kabukicho Tower complex brought new energy to the area in recent years, and the surrounding blocks continue to evolve. At the edge of the district, Golden Gai holds over 200 tiny bars, each seating fewer than ten people, many with decades of literary and artistic regulars and a noticeably more intimate atmosphere.
Shinjuku's nightlife district is safe to explore. Godzilla head on Hotel Gracery is free to photograph from street level.
