The main draw is inside the halls: multiple Heian-period Buddhist statues designated as Important Cultural Properties. On the second Sunday of September, the temple hosts its annual goma fire ritual and fire-walking ceremony. Remove shoes before entering any building; look for a shoe rack near the entrance.
