Japan Ukiyo-e Museum

The largest private collection of ukiyo-e woodblock prints anywhere in the world, with over 100,000 pieces assembled over five generations by the Sakai family of Matsumoto. Rotating exhibitions feature masterworks by Hokusai, Hiroshige, Utamaro, and Sharaku alongside lesser-known artists, covering the full arc of the art form from its 17th-century origins through the Meiji era.
