伊豆こけし (銀山店)
The Izu family opened this small craft shop in 1922.
The Izu family has been making and selling kokeshi dolls from this small shop near Ginzan Onsen since 1922. Their Oshin kokeshi, featuring painted bob haircuts and ribbons, became widely recognized after appearing in the television drama that used Ginzan as a setting. They also make tanjo kokeshi, carved to the exact height and weight of a newborn child as a birth keepsake. The Ginzan shop sells snacks and souvenirs alongside the dolls. A separate factory workshop on the road to the onsen offers kokeshi painting introductions and sells additional wooden handicrafts. The business is now in its third generation.
