Overview

Park surrounding reconstructed castle ruins in Nisshin, with cherry blossoms and walking paths through former fortress.

Iwasaki Castle in Nisshin is a reconstruction built in 1987 on the site of a 16th-century fortification that served the Oda clan's network of local strongholds. The original structure was demolished centuries ago, but the grounds have been maintained as a park with walking paths winding through the hillside. Cherry trees line the approach, and the area draws crowds in late March and early April when the blossoms are at their peak. The small museum inside the castle replica covers the history of the castle and its role in regional conflicts. The grounds are free to enter, with a modest fee for the museum.
