Itoshima Peninsula
nature
糸島半島
A coastal peninsula with California vibes, surf beaches, craft cafes, oyster huts, and salt-making workshops.
Thirty minutes from Fukuoka, Itoshima feels like a different world. The peninsula combines beautiful beaches, roadside craft galleries, organic cafes, and winter oyster barbecue huts along the coast. Local artisans produce salt, ceramics, and honey. The Sakurai Futamigaura shrine gate rising from the sea is iconic.
November-March is oyster hut season. Kaki Goya stalls along the coast grill all-you-can-eat fresh oysters for around 2,000 yen.
