Keyhole-shaped ancient tomb saved by citizens, now serving as a nature sanctuary.
A well preserved keyhole shaped tomb in the Mozu cluster that was famously saved from destruction by a local citizen movement. Today, the surrounding moat is a sanctuary for tanuki and migratory birds. Visitors can view the forested mound from a dedicated platform.
Look closely at the ruined concrete bridge stretching into the moat, a stark reminder of the halted residential development that almost destroyed the site.
