Park preserving five relocated Edo-era stone arch bridges.
A riverside park preserving five Edo-era stone arch bridges that were relocated here after a devastating flood in 1993. The arched bridges, originally built without mortar using Satsuma engineering techniques, are rare survivors of feudal-era infrastructure.
The small museum on-site explains the unique mortarless stone construction. It's a pleasant 15-minute riverside walk south from the Sakurajima ferry terminal.
