官営八幡製鐵所 旧鍛冶工場
Historic 19th-century steel forge building viewable from a dedicated observation area.
One of the original structures of Japan's first modern steel mill, built using European designs. It played a critical role in forging the heavy machinery needed for national modernization. Like the Head Office, it can be viewed from a designated outdoor observation platform.
The observation platform provides excellent informational plaques explaining the distinct architectural differences between the forge and the nearby repair shop.
