Most visitors walk past the actual highlight: the Ninomaru Garden, a pond landscape with large carp set against the former castle’s massive stone walls. Entry is free but requires collecting a token at the gate. Be aware that the gardens close on Mondays and Fridays.
Free entry, no reservation needed. The Ninomaru Garden is the highlight. Most people miss it.
