A small, flat island just 30 minutes by ferry from Motobu on Okinawa's main island, easily recognized by the distinctive pointed peak of Mount Gusuku (172m) rising from its center. The island is famous for its annual Lily Festival in late April, when over one million white Easter lilies blanket the northern shore. Beyond the festival, Iejima offers quiet beaches, sugarcane fields, and historical sites from the Battle of Okinawa, all easily explored by rental bicycle.
