Overview

Highland recreation park with summer cycling, winter snow activities, and atmospheric Yuki-Koi lantern festival.

Hiruzen Kogen in Okayama Prefecture is a highland plateau at roughly 600 meters elevation, surrounded by the three peaks of the Hiruzen range. Joyful Park sits within this plateau and has a small collection of rides, fairground games, and a mini golf course oriented toward families and younger visitors. The area is also known for Hiba beef, Hiruzen daikon radish, and soft-serve ice cream made from the region's dairy, which you can find at the center's cafe and surrounding roadside shops. In summer the highland air is noticeably cooler than the lowlands. Autumn brings clear skies and foliage views across the wide meadows.
