Hiroshima's busiest shrine, located within the grounds of Hiroshima Castle. Originally destroyed by the atomic bomb and rebuilt in 1956, it draws over a million visitors at New Year and hosts the city's largest annual festivals.
Local tips
Combine with Hiroshima Castle right next door. The shrine is especially atmospheric during the Toukasan Yukata Festival in early June.
