Seasonal shaved ice stand using fresh local fruit syrups, located near the ferry terminal.
Hidamari Kaki-Gori Stand near Takamatsu's ferry terminal has earned a following for its fluffy, snow-like kakigori topped with syrups made from fresh local fruits. The ice is shaved to an exceptionally fine texture that melts slowly on the tongue, and toppings shift with the seasons: strawberry and citrus in spring, peach and mango in summer, grape and chestnut in autumn. The industrial-chic space with a small garden creates a surprisingly stylish setting. Lines form on hot summer afternoons, but the quality justifies the wait. It makes an ideal cool-down stop before or after catching a ferry to the art islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
