Hidagawa Onsen Shimizunoyu is a hot spring in the Hagiwara district of Gero.

Part of the Minami Hida Health Promotion Center in the Hagiwara district of Gero, this municipal onsen facility focuses on wellness through water. Indoor baths include herb-infused soaks, while outdoor baths sit in garden settings. Private baths can be reserved, and a pool with massage jets runs exercise classes for all ages. The surrounding 250-hectare forest has walking trails and cottages. The restaurant serves Hida beef and tofu boiled in hot-spring water, and has received recognition for its health-conscious menu.

Local tips

Wash thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the bath. This is non-negotiable etiquette. Bring a small towel but keep it out of the water.
