Flagship Hankyu department store; 1929 founding, 13 floors, basement food hall is a destination of its own.
Flagship Hankyu department store, founded 1929 as Japan's first terminal-station department store. The current 13-floor building reopened in 2012 after a six-year reconstruction; the central 9-floor atrium with rotating cultural exhibits is an architectural set piece. The basement food hall (Hankyu Yokocho) is a destination in its own right, with 60+ counters covering Osaka and Kansai specialties.
B1 food hall is busiest 17:00 to 19:00. Rooftop greenhouse on 13F is free and most people don't know it exists.
