Underground shopping plaza beneath Hankyu Umeda Station, opened 1969 with a sunken artificial waterfall as its central landmark.
A two-floor underground shopping plaza beneath Hankyu Umeda Station, opened in 1969 as one of the first large-scale Osaka underground retail concepts. The 'Sanbangai Stream' artificial waterfall in the central atrium runs through both floors and is the landmark locals use for meet-up directions. The basement is heavy on food (curry, ramen, izakaya); the upper floor mixes apparel and bookstores.
Connected to Hankyu Umeda's Yodobashi Camera entrance via a covered walkway; useful in rain for moving between Umeda's underground network.
