Hakusan Murodo Lodge
nature
白山室堂
Book Saturday nights far in advance for this 2,450-meter hiking base. The draw on clear mornings is a priest-led sunrise ritual at the summit shrine. Snow remains on the ground through June, and meals only begin late in the month. Reservations are required and made via a phone call in Japanese.
Remove shoes before entering any hall. Look for a shoe rack at the entrance. Carry a plastic bag for your shoes if none is provided.
