HAGISO
1955 wooden apartment converted in 2013 to a cafe-gallery-ryokan complex by architect Taichi Miyamoto.
A 1955 wooden apartment house spared from demolition and converted in 2013 into a cultural complex with a cafe, a gallery, and the Hanare boutique guesthouse. Architect Taichi Miyamoto preserved the original timber frame and grafted on a new courtyard. The breakfast set, served at the cafe, is plated in a wooden bento layout.
Cafe closed Mondays. Reservations not required for the cafe; gallery exhibitions rotate every six weeks.
