玉泉院丸庭園
Gyokuseninmaru Garden is a traditional-style garden on the grounds of Kanazawa Castle.
Gyokuseninmaru Garden sits within Kanazawa Castle grounds and is named after Gyokusenin, wife of the domain's second lord. The garden's stepped design creates a strong vertical character, enhanced by a stair-like waterfall flowing from one of its distinctive stone walls. It has been carefully restored to resemble its appearance at the close of the Edo period. The Gyokusen-an teahouse serves tea and traditional sweets overlooking the garden, with covered free seating outside for a relaxed viewing experience. On Friday and Saturday evenings and the nights before public holidays, the garden is illuminated in colors that shift with the seasons.
