Genbikei Gorge

厳美渓
Sculpted river gorge where sweet dango fly across the canyon on a cable-basket system.
A two-kilometer stretch of sculpted rock formations along the Iwai River where turquoise water has carved potholes, arches, and plunge pools over millennia. The signature experience is ordering flying dango, place money in a basket, bang a wooden board, and sweet rice dumplings with green tea zip across the gorge on a cable from the opposite cliff.
