Deep-cut local izakaya loved for its simple, hearty dishes and nostalgic atmosphere.
Takamatsu backstreet izakaya with the feel of someone's living room from the 1970s, where regulars gather for grilled fish, simmered dishes, fried tofu, and seasonal small plates prepared with decades of quiet care. The drink selection runs to local Kagawa sake and shochu, and the owner is happy to point you toward the right pairing. It does not appear in guidebooks or on social media, which is entirely the point. Finding it requires wandering through Takamatsu's less-traveled lanes, but that sense of discovery is part of what makes the evening memorable. Simple, honest, and thoroughly local.
