Thirty-meter-wide cascade called 'Niagara of the East,' with promenade walks directly alongside.
Called the 'Niagara of the East,' Fukiware Falls spans 30 meters wide as the Katashina River splits and plunges 7 meters into a gorge carved through volcanic rock. A suspension bridge and riverside promenade let you walk directly above and alongside the cascading water. Spring snowmelt swells the falls to their most powerful, while autumn wraps the gorge in vivid orange and red maple canopy.
