Fujimi Observation Deck

The Fujimi Observation Deck sits along the hiking route up Mt. Iwaya-yama on the Chita Peninsula south of Nagoya. The view from the platform takes in Ise Bay, the islands scattered across the bay's mouth, and on cold clear winter days a faint outline of Mt. Fuji rising above the horizon roughly 200 kilometers away. The hike to the observation point takes about 40 minutes from the trailhead and follows a well-marked path through mixed forest. Bring binoculars in winter for the best chance at the Fuji view.
