富士スピードウェイ
Challenging road course originally planned as NASCAR oval inspired by Daytona Speedway, evolved into different design.
Fuji Speedway has been a fixture of Japanese motorsport since 1966, when it opened as a banked oval before being converted to a road course that has since hosted Formula One and World Endurance Championship races. Mt. Fuji frames the far end of the main straight, creating one of the more dramatic backdrops in racing. On non-event days, the circuit offers driving experiences and track days on the same asphalt as the professionals. The adjacent hotel includes a museum with historic racing cars. It sits about 90 minutes from Tokyo and pairs well with nearby Lake Yamanaka or a stop at Gotemba's outlet mall.
