Overview
Former highest Unzen peak at 1,359m, surpassed by recently formed Heisei Shizan, one of Japan's newest active mountains.
Once the highest peak of Mount Unzen, Fugen-Dake reaches an amazing 1,359 meters. This all changed, however, with the formation of Heisei Shizan, one of Japan's most recently formed mountains and active volcanoes. It outranks Fugen-Dake by 100 meters.
