Overview
Elegant 19th-century Western-style home built for British textile engineers in Kagoshima.
Also known as the Ijinkan, this elegant wooden building was constructed to house British engineers invited to Kagoshima. It is a rare, pristine example of early Western style architecture in Japan. The wrap around veranda provides a charming view of the surrounding landscape.
